MURFREESBORO – Blackman’s Charlie Davidson scored on a 5-yard touchdown run with 4:05 left in the third quarter to help lead the Blaze to a 28-21 win over rival Oakland today at The Inferno.

Blackman and Oakland are tied at 21 at halftime of today’s nationally-televised District 7-AAA contest at The Inferno.
Tennessee commitment Jauan Jennings broke free for a 20-yard run through the Oakland defensive line, then converted the 2-point coversion to tie the game with 2:23 left in the first half.
Jennings is 4-of-6 passing for 62 yards. He has 10 carries for 56 yards. Teammate Charlie Davidson has eight carries for 52 yards for the Blaze.
The Blaze have 178 total yards.
Oakland quarterback Christian Haffner is 8-of-13 passing for 169 yards with a touchdown pass and two interceptions. George Gbesee gave the Patriots a 21-13 lead when he caught a quick pass on the sidelines and raced 41 yards for the score.
Gbesee has three catches for 135 yards. Oakland has 221 total yards.
Gbesee’s 53-yard reception off a bubble screen helped set up Oakland’s first score – a Tyler Black 5-yard run out of the Patriots’ wildcat.
Jennings tied the game 7-7 with 5:09 left in the first quarter when he finished a 73-yard drive with a 5-yard pass to Quen Hardy on fourth-and-goal.
Oakland made it 14-7 when the Patriots capitalized on Jennings’ fumble forced by Greg Cantrell. Gbesee caught a 41-yard pass on the first play of the game. Three plays later, Black scored on a 2-yard run.
Blackman took advantage of Haffner’s second interception of the first half by going 55 yards on four plays with Jennings scoring on a 6-yard TD run. However, Kevin Prather blocked the extra point attempt.
